Attached is the agenda notice for the upcoming Sand Summit. BEACON and its partners: the City of Port Hueneme, Channel Islands Harbor, and the Navy, have been holding an annual sediment management meeting focused on Ventura for the past 5 years. The agenda notice included the time, date, and remote access zoom information.
This year’s Sand Summit includes presentations from representatives of the three local harbors involved in dredging and beach nourishment, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Channel islands. In addition, Dr. Jon Warrick representing the United States Geological survey will provide a presentation on shoreline change and erosion focussing on the mugu coast. Dr. Warrick has recently completed and published along with collaborators an analysis of beach erosion in Southern California and coastwide.
