Beacon is excited to announce a new partnership with SCI to provide remote, continuous coastal monitoring at select project sites in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. BEACON is responsible for addressing coastal erosion, the protection of coastal resources and coastal adaptation, with a goal to improve and expand beach and shoreline monitoring within the Santa Barbara Littoral Cell in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Through this partnership with SCI, Beacon will gain access to real-time data documenting shoreline change, beach recreation, infrastructure risk, wave climatology, beach visitation data, and more. Beacon is partnering with SCI to bring camera-based monitoring to this part of the California coastline to inform coastal resilience planning and projects.
