At its March 2023 Board Meeting, the Board received a presentation on the Science of Regional Sediment Management and a presentation on the January 2023 Beach Sediment Deposition emergency projects at Goleta County Beach Park and at Carpinteria City Beach.
Dr. Kiki Patsch, Chair of the BEACON Science Advisory Committee (SAC), and Associatte Professor, California State University Channel Islands, provided comments on recent Regional Sediment Management, and related Sea Level Rise Adaptation, activities by BEACON and the SAC in the SB Littoral Cell (SBLC).
Mr. Walter Rubalcava and Mr. Andrew Raaf, represented Santa Barbara County Department of Public Works, providing a summary of the January 2023 Beach Sediment Deposition emergency projects at Goleta County Beach Park and at Carpinteria City Beach undertaken by Santa Barbara County Flood Control.
